Animation
This week we moved onto the moving image rotation. This week was also really fun for me as I love film and the art of production and animating. To start the week off we got into groups and took a series of images to tell a story. Our story was 2 people shopping in Waitrose, only to find out there is one item left, and they are both after it. The story follows them on their tense discovery of realising they were both after the same product. We used black and white effects to show the tension in the situation, as it is a comedy we also intertextually included references to spaghetti westerns, with the extreme close ups of the face and the close up of the hand gripping, in this case a basket, but contextually a gun from the films. From peer feedback, as a group we found out that some of our images maybe were not as clear as we anticipated they would be, so the story didn't make complete sense, without a quick explanation. However, the pictures represented the story well, once explained, and the series made sense. The feedback really helped us to think about the project and how we could develop/ make it better next time. These is the 12 image story;
Later on in the week we joined different groups and created a hand-drawn animation together. Each of us brought an object and we drew it and passed it to the person on our left and then traced their object drawing. We then had to make their object into ours via a series of drawings. I had the struggle of making a USB Stick into a Tinker-bell badge. Through 45 pictures I was able to do this and the final animation looked really good and we were very pleased that all four efforts paid off.
